Corium drives innovation at Inspiramais with Preview do Couro workshop

Corium stood out at Inspiramais 2027_I by leading the Preview do Couro (Leather Preview) space with a hands-on workshop that highlighted the connection between chemistry, design, and creation in the leather industry.

Held in January 2026, the activity provided a true immersion into the leather creative process, demonstrating in practice how chemical solutions directly impact the development of materials, colors, and finishes.

The chemistry behind creation

Led by the Corium team and coordinated by designer Marnei Carminatti, the workshop presented key stages of the process prior to final leather production. During the session, participants followed the mixing of colors using concentrated pigments, their application in resins —responsible for adhesion— and the finishing with polyurethane (PU).

The dynamic allowed participants to clearly understand how chemical technology contributes to both aesthetic and functional results, bringing them closer to the stages that bring leather to life before its industrial application.

The technical execution of the workshop also included specialist Mateus Santos, who highlighted the stages of the process and the importance of leather preparation before its application in the footwear industry.

The event is organized by Assintecal in partnership with the Centro das Indústrias de Curtumes do Brasil, Associação Brasileira da Indústria Têxtil e de Confecção, and Associação Brasileira das Indústrias de Mobiliário, with support from key industry organizations.
